The '''Compact of Spacefaring Systems''', a.k.a. the '''C.S.S,''' '''First Compact''' or the '''High Steelforge Empire''', was an empire in the immediate post-silence era, centered around the planet of [[High Steelforge]]. Traditionally, it is considered to have started in 2230, at the end of the Silence, and ended in the Compact Civil War with the destruction of Granthor II in <date tbd>. At its peak, it consisted of some 342 colonized planets forming a contiguous region of territory near the tip of the Elyrion galactic arm. It was mostly co-extensive with the present Nova Compact.
