The Omnimie Quarter is a region of High Steelforge populated primarily by Shirren and others descended from the Omnimie oversoul, as well as other species with telepathic capabilities. Its borders roughly follow that of 3rd Radial 7 District, with the most distinctive areas concentrated in the south-eastern ward. As almost all residents of the quarter are telepathic, spoken conversation is vanishingly rare. One neighborhood in the upper levels of the 5th ward of the district has gone so far to ban noise emissions above 40 decibels, making it the quietest area of the city, and a hub for those who, for a variety of reasons, wish to live in relative silence. Many rituals practiced by Omnimie in the pre-silence era are maintained in this district, one of the only places in colonized space where they can be found. The 4th ward of the district contains one of the city's larger bio-domes, which houses a relatively arid savannah populated primarily by large colonies of fungi.
