The B.90 is a line of space tug and support ships built by Bulgine Systems in the early 2400s. Simple, utilitarian, and with excellent performance, the model was a huge success for the firm's starship design office. Built to require the barest minimum in support facilities, the low operating cost and affordable price tag combined with what were at the time top-of-the-line capabilities saw the model used both in local terminals in the space surrounding Atikon and by far-flung major ports such as High Steelforge, Port Auren, and Orsha Vae, who acquired their fleet of B.90's by licensed production through the Voidswright's guild. While it has long been retired from service on the Novabridge's major terminals, countless B.90's still operate in lower-traffic systems across the Wendingways, Aenaz, and the Amber Reaches, and a handful of the licensed variants are still produced by local light shipyards each year. It has earned its common nickname of "old faithful", and is also known as the "muscle rustbucket".

Specifications

The B.90 is a non-FTL capable tug. It is fitted with a .5 gigawatt helium fueled cold-fusion reactor and an array of vectored low-reaction plasma thrusters which receive 90% of the reactor output. It can attach itself to vessels via a high-strength docking node (designed to be easily refitted to a variety of docking port standards), magnetic clamps, or hooked cables. The original configuration of the B.90 was designed to sustain a crew of 5 for 24 hours, although later models had their crew areas slightly extended and life support improved to allow a 6-man complement to operate for several days on 12-hour 3 man shifts.
