Ir’Mazi

The Ir'mazi are a race of sentient shelled isopods hailing from the planet of Nuvenai II. Patient, meticulous, and slow, they observe and manipulate the world around them one piece at a time, carefully and deliberately; and no matter what happens, they will see to it that whatever has been started will someday be finished, no matter how many generations it takes to do so.

Biology and Appearance

The Ir’Mazi are shrimplike beings whose bodies are divided into 9 shelled segments, each with a pair of fairly simple limbs. The latter 5 segments are devoted to locomotion, while the forward two are specialized for manipulating and the intermediate set useable for both depending on posture. A pair of stalked eyes on the forward section allow for nearly 360 degree vision in a spectrum somewhat wider than that of humans. Ir’Mazi typically assume a crescent shaped posture, with the rearmost segment nearly parallel to the ground and the forward segment nearly vertical.

the Ir’Mazi mouth is a strange assembly, composed largely of articulated plates and prehensile protrusions about the actual opening. Specialized oral members make up the entirety of the vocal tract, and the geometric range of their mouths allows them to speak most galactic languages.

Ir'Mazi are typically 2-3 meters long, and stand about 1.5 meters tall.
