Kasatha

Known to many as the one-eyed wanderers, the Kasatha were an insular and little-traveled people before the silence, their interstellar presence dominated by the nearby Anazcans. Their homeworlds were destroyed by the fall of the Silence; those Kasatha who wander the galaxy today are descendants of the great sublight generation ships launched in their homeworlds' final desperate years.

Origins

Biology and Appearance

Kasatha are humanoid hexapods, with two legs and four four-fingered arms. They have a pair of tightly spiraling large hollow horns protruding from their heads, which are both the basis of their sense of hearing and able to produce far-carrying tones used extensively in their traditional music. Kasatha possess a single, large eye at the center of their faces which looks similar to the compound eyes of insects, although it is far more sophisticated and allows them sharp and full-color sight. Kasatha mouths are strange, multi-jawed affairs, although the near-universal use of veils to obscure the lower half of the face means that they are rarely seen.
