Order of the Holy Star-Chorus

The Order of the Holy Star-Chorus is a cult of aethiric mysteries which primarily venerates the Navigator and the Forgemaster, and the sole organization in the Kingdom of the Amber Suns permitted to operate a Starsong network. It maintains substantial estates in every Starsong-connected system, whose revenues are used to fund the operation of its stations, as well as its religious functions. It is formally headquartered on the planet Kerival, a former Conclave forge world. The Amber King is formally the head of the order, and its most holy priest; however, for practical purposes it is directed by a High Conductor who resides on Kerival. The Order's Starsong network is one of the principal means by which the Amber King exerts central authority in the outer reaches of the kingdom. The Order principally operates lower-bandwidth, longer-range Starsong systems in strategically key systems, although a few key ley-line trade routes have had regularly spaced, higher-bandwidth systems constructed along them.

The Order of the Holy Star-Chorus is also one of the key operators of large schools of magic in the kingdom. It runs the Kerival Academy of Theurgy, the largest school of magic in the kingdom on its homeworld. It also maintains smaller institutions for the teaching of arcane traditions as well as aether navigation in many of its estates, as well as a handful on planets in systems not connected to the Starsong network.

The Order maintains an independent standard for Starsong communications optimized for its peculiarly structured network. It maintains an interchange point with the Nova Bridge Starsong Carrier Group at Zanzib Junction.
