Soloit is a strategically situated planet in the Dutchy of Cygnus, being the only inhabited world in the Hie system at the junction of Belledaire Spur and Kimelmann Line ley-lines. It is formally controlled by the Amber Star Consortium, and has been the location of its headquarters in the Dutchy since 2499. Its military defense and amber production are overseen by Commodore-Banneret Tille Mar Oranei, a retainer of the House D'Rames. It was previously the central planet of Star-County Hinar before that county was dissolved following the third War of Mutes and Trumpets.

Government and Major Institutions

As an Amber Star headquarters planet, formal control is divided between the representatives of Consortium concerns and the local nobility. The planet is formally within the Star-County Elorza, governed by the House D'Rames. Rather than designating the planet's amber-producing lands a fief, the D'Rames house claims it personally, and dispatches a military retainer to oversee its production and the planet's defense. The planet's ducal governor rules from the city of Geridia, on the planet's northern continent.

Due to their headquarters being transferred to the planet in the immediate aftermath of the third War of Mutes and Trumpets, the Amber Star Consortium was able to claim direct control of unusually large areas of land and their associated natural resources. They have developed these holdings rigorously, concentrating their operations in two cities on the planet's southern continents - Rulda City and New Borneo. Rulda City is governed by the Tak-Libbne Collective, a Nitaki clan with a substantial merchant fleet and banking enterprise. Interstellar trade, finance, and shipbuilding is concentrated in Rulda City. New Borneo is controlled by the Addro Group, an firm established by a number of offworld Consortium entities to oversee the extraction and processing of the planet's natural resources.
